Techonolgies used for Rapid Prototyping in South Florida Miami

Rapid Prototyping
Rapid Prototyping is the process where 3D files generated on a computer are transformed into a real physical 3d object. This process is made available with a 3D printer. This specialized printer takes the CAD files and transforms it into a plastic object.

The prototype is made by 3d printing . This is a slow process which the model is built like a layers cake. The printer slowly injects plastic in layers from the bottom up, building up slowly the model until completion. There are several different
technologies which these machines take advantage of, the most familiar ones are:

  • SLS - Selective laser sintering

  • FDM- Fused deposition modeling

  • SL – Stereolithography

  • LOM - Laminated object manufacturing

  • EBM - Electron beam melting

  • The rapid prototyping has enabled a new era in product design and quick models. Now once an industrial designer has finished preparing his 3D model they are now able to test the product without going into high expenses. Before making Plastic Mold & Metal Molds, the design could be tested to see if it fits its functionality and ergonomics. A usual Rapid Prototype would cost less than a thousand dollars. This is relatively a low expense when concerning manufacturing. It is an easy, quick and inexpensive way to get results without investing thousands of dollars on molds with mistakes.
3d rapid prototype is the fastest way to get results which are similar to injection molding. Once the model is printed, it still needs some work. Sanding, painting and impurities must be fixed before the model gets its complete looks.
